Memory of the sky

2011Complete

CAnSusumu Uno

“Memory of the Sky” is a sculptor’s villa, built in the forest on the mountain.
A planar composition of “rice ball shapes,” rounded triangles joined together, creates a form like flower petals surrounding the courtyard and produces a circulation loop with no dead ends.
While ensuring the independence of each private room, there is also the generosity of space as one.
It is a space where “many” and “one” coexist, and where the “visible” and the “invisible” are continuous.
In the courtyard, produced according to its shape, “Memories of Rain,” a work by sculptor Takeshi Hayashi, who is also the client, is displayed.
When you lie down there and look up at the sky, you can see the sky framed by the “rice ball shapes.”
